Learn to fly with Pakenham & District Radio Control Society

Pakenham & District Radio Control Society (P&DARCS)

Our facilities make it unique amongst radio controlled aircraft clubs in Australia.

The field is located on Wenn Rd off Ballarto Rd Cardinia.

We have 3 runways, two North-South and one East-West which is large enough to land a full size aircraft. We have a clubhouse with airconditioned facilities and 103 acres of open flying space. Flying takes place 7 days a week weather permitting. Qualified club instructors are available to help you from your first flight to going solo and the award of your flying wings.

Members fly sport models, scale models, gliders, multicopters and helicopters. We have qualified instructors for each type. Visitors are welcome in the club and all we ask is that you comply with our safety requirements.

For more information, go to the club website: pdarcs.com.au or contact Ivan Chiselett, Club Secretary 9898 4379. If you would like so read a brochure on our club, please visit this link on our website.

We accept provisional members for their first year which allows the use of our facilities, provides insurance cover and allows you to ‘give it a try’.

If you don’t have your own model, we will provide one, a radio and a qualified instructor to give you a trial flight. You will have the opportunity to fly the plane yourself, meet the club members and check out our facilities.

It will give you the chance to see different types of models and how they are flown. Also, you will have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss how you can start in the sport.

We will provide advice as to an appropriate model, help you to put your kit together, check it out for safety and an instructor will test fly it to make sure it is OK.These days, most people start with an ARF (almost ready to fly) model. This reduces the time spent on construction and enables you to be in the air sooner.
